Invitation to the “5G and non-public networks” conference

Nov 3, 2023 | About VDT

We invite you to join us at the “5G and non-public networks” conference on November 2, focusing on “Opportunity for Technological Development”, organized by the City of Ústí nad Labem in cooperation with Metropolnet, a.s., and taking place at the Innovation Centre of the Ústí nad Labem Region. The conference focuses on the practical use of 5G technology in state and local governance with an emphasis on the technological development of cities and increased safety for citizens.

The conference is intended for professionals, municipal and city staff, as well as members of municipal governments interested in the future of urban ICT networks and the use of 5G technology. During the conference, we will jointly focus on presentations enabling better perception of the innovations and opportunities enabled by these new technologies. This in turn paves the way to building a smarter, more connected future for cities and citizens.

The conference will include a discussion on how cities can apply 5G technologies to enhance infrastructure, transport and intercommunication technologies. Examples of successful 5G implementation in state and local governance and other organizations will be showcased with the aim of inspiring participants to take on new projects and bring the practical applications of 5G to life.

In addition, the programme will include a debate on the opportunities for the development of smart cities, exploring the possibilities offered by 5G for creating smart cities connected within units and adapted to the needs of citizens. There will also be in-depth analysis of the impacts on citizen security of 5G deployment, including the ways in which cities can protect their citizens from security challenges, along with a glimpse into the future of 5G development and its potential for data collection and analysis to support better decision-making.

Finally, the conference will focus on support for urban network development and 5G connectivity projects, including funding opportunities and collaboration for projects related to urban infrastructure development and connectivity through 5G technologies.

In the afternoon session on Use Cases and Good Practices, our colleague Erik Feldman will speak at 2pm on the subject: “Use of Video Analytics Software on 5G Networks in Urban Video Surveillance Systems”. His presentation will focus on image data processing with ML/AI, including a practical demonstration of possible analytical and statistical functions. Our new smart camera system uses CertiConVis, a sophisticated software for real-time analysis of camera footage, and BriefCam for metadata extraction and aggregation as well as five wireless networks, enabling high-quality real-time analysis for security, mobility, traffic monitoring and educational purposes.

We are thrilled to share our experience in implementing this smart camera system!
