This week, we celebrated the great success of our colleague Jiří Jirkovský as the Czech Chamber of Commerce awarded him the Silver Mercury Medal for his long-standing contribution, business support and industry development based on a nomination from the Association of Technical Security Services Grémium Alarm. The presentation ceremony took place on the eve of the 35th Congress of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, on 30 May 2023 at the Stages Hotel Prague.
Jiří’s medal was presented by the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Tomáš Prouza in the presence of Chamber President Vladimír Dlouhy and other representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic.
The Mercury Medal, an honorary award named after the Roman god of commerce Mercury who became a symbol of the chamber of commerce movement, was introduced in 2013 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Czech Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes individuals, entrepreneurs, institutions, organizations, and municipalities that have contributed to the promotion of business and the activities of the Chamber of Commerce. In addition to their own area of business, many honourees are also involved in philanthropic activities such as supporting education, humanitarian aid, or other projects.
