Apr 3, 2023 | Press releases

Czech advanced systems integrator VDT Technology and the Faculty of Transportation of the Czech Technical University (CVUT) have announced closer cooperation, with VDT Technology becoming a “Golden Partner” of CVUT.

Closer cooperation will open up new avenues for research and knowledge exchange as well as opportunities for CVUT students. The agreement includes the possibility for students to commission a professional study as part of their research, participation for VDT Technology in all official events organized by the Faculty of Transportation in 2023, the chance for VDT Technology experts to deliver lectures to students, and job positions for students at VDT Technology.

Cooperation also involves participation for VDT Technology in the international Smart Cities Symposium organized by the Faculty of Transportation, taking place on May 25-26. The symposium is of particular relevance for VDT Technology’s activities in the field of autonomous transportation research, and the development of smart cities incorporating the latest technological solutions to improve life for residents.

This year’s edition of the Smart Cities Symposium Prague and the European Transport Congress will focus on strengthening resilience, especially in the context of sudden changes in the energy sector. Taking into account the application of knowledge in real-world solutions, the conferences are vital forums for the discussion of topics affecting technology developers and decision makers including information and data processing, modelling, and ensuring that cities are liveable.

VDT Technology is closely involved in the development of Smart City solutions in the Czech Republic through projects for the creation and implementation of autonomous public transport solutions, as well as advanced systems for CCTV recognition and security. In collaboration with Czech and Israeli partners, the company is undertaking a programme to research and implement self-driving shuttle bus services with a research grant from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic running until the end of 2025.

“We are excited to enter into a new phase of cooperation with the Faculty of Transportation, a key partner for us in our efforts to create effective solutions for modern cities,” says Robert Pergl, Chairman of the Board of Directors at VDT Technology. “We look forward to deepening our knowledge sharing while participating actively at the forefront of Czech innovation in this critical area of research.”
